The red hatch is back on your screens with several changes and improvements. As always our approach is to make changes test them on track and move forward based on the feedback that we get.
Lets see if we did so this time.
Chapter 4: Repeat
With the brand new assembled short block and cylinder head in our hands, we proceeded with an unboxing that we may never have the chance to do it again. Red and white Honda original part labels are always an attractive sight.
With the block and the head now exposed, we assembled the engine with new OEM gaskets, bolts, and a timing set complemented by a 4Piston EP3 oil pump to match our oil pan and Clockwise baffled sump.
Correct, what you see is brand new never used. !!

Engine fitted and broke-in in our local mountain roads.
Calm highway driving at 3000 RPM was never an option for us.
Let’s say that we didn’t exceed 7500 RPM for the first 100km of our new engine and we called it ready. We are dealing with a warrior not a cheerleader.

After leaving behind us the engine replacement we focused on actual car improvements based on the feedback from our last track appearance.
Brakes – DC5 Typer Front and Rear brakes with our favourite Ferodo DS3000 pads and RPB rotors installed. Brakes Check.

Crazy highspeed oversteer – Some custom fabricated lower side skirts to prevent air flowing underneath the car and lift the back, and some adjustments on the rear toe. Oversteer Check (for now).
Some of our favourite Motul 300V 15W50 to cope with the Greek summer.
Cooling efficiency. In our first track day we noticed high and raising coolant temperatures. Like every one of you, we spent more time than what we want to admit watching automotive Youtube videos. At some point we stumbled on Andrew’s Hawkins aka Mr Motive DVD video presenting some basic good practice aero mods for the front end. Simple and shortly – They Do Work.
Have a look at the video
This is our interpretation for the front end. Duct simply works, big rads or huge openings are not always the solution. Be efficient!!!
Some corner weight and a good opportunity for more photos

Summer 2020 was heavily impacted by Covid-19. “Greek Summer is a state of mind” quote mend for us that we can spend our summer holidays at the race track, our favourite Serres Racing Circuit.
Two consecutive weekends, along with our friends and the rapidly developing company TrackSpeed. If you fancy driving from a hairdresser’s car to a full GT spec Porsche Cayman or Radical SR3 give them a call.
Car spend a week next to that wing.
Track was hot, but car felt great. Oversteer disappeared, water temperature stabilised, oil temperature was still a bit high but what could we expect when running lap after lap at 35 degree Celsius.
Rigorous splitter mount testing is still under way.
Rest of the show a quick photoshooting session , that’s what we where waiting for !! Enjoy some pics from the race track
In case you need to see and listen how this is looks like from the driver seat, take a taste on a youtube video uploaded from driver and owner of the civic
One happy team energised and ready for the winter time. We expect that lower track temperatures and a set of brand-new slicks will allow us to drop our lap times by the end of the year.
As always keep an eye on our blog updates for track spec contect and many more!!!
