We are back again, working on the same track spec civic EK.
A bunch of performance parts have arrived, so let’s see what is going to happen.
During the first track event, the civic left over with clutch issues which had as a conclusion a broken clutch disc.
This was the result…..
Our plans were to replace the faulty clutch by fitting a new unit that can handle more than a organic clutch.
Brake feedback was also a bit of problem, as the normal discs-pads wouldn’t work under high pressure. This was known but it was just the starter setup , not the one off setup.
So with these issues in mind and a few more , our conversation and plans started by having a further support from Tegiwa Imports in UK which are our long time partners.
As they handle the official Civic Cup challenge in UK, we discussed for a few products that are track proven and reliable enough to cover our needs. On a budget and at the same time performance option, we secured a list of parts that can help us get a step faster at the finish line with the civic ek track project .
A few days later, the entire part list came in
- RPC Stage 3 clutch kit
- RPB 282mm brake discs front
- RPB performance brake lines
- Civic Cup front & rear brake pads
- Motul brake fluids
- Tegiwa silicone hoses
- Tegiwa aluminum radiator
- Tegiwa slim fan
- Tegiwa race spec short shifter
The brake and clutch setup now is going to change completely and we expect the feedback to be much better now.
Brake discs and pads can now handle the high temperatures without sacrificing the pedal feeling and brake performance.
The brake setup as we had said, is 282mm ITR spec at front and 240mm stock size vti at rear.
Civic Cup pads front and rear
Nice and fresh front setup- New pads- New discs- New brake lines and…
New brake fluids by Motul
Brake fluid bleed in progress
RPB brake lines on spot
Clutch kit of choice , RPC stage 3 spring type 6pad clutch. Comes with new pressure plate-disc-release bearing.
Tegiwa have a great high quality aluminum radiator w 1.3 bar cap which we combined with a Tegiwa slim fan and a set of Tegiwa silicone radiator hoses. Our cooling system is now better than ever before.
The civic in running a b18 gsr engine swap, on basic mods , Tegiwa carbon chamber intake, a 2.5 full exhaust system and ecu programming. The gearbox is LSD equipped with 4.7 final drive.
A nice view of the entire front suspension system and all the fancy red Energy suspension bushings.
A quick view of the Tegiwa race spec shifter. This unit heavy duty and reduce the gear shift distance as well as getting the shifter much closer to the steering wheel. This results in better and faster gear change due to less hand travel between the steering wheel and the shifter.
Closing our introduction for today, with a night view as the civic left over at the workshop. Next days for testing, lets see how it gets..
Stay tuned
P.S. At this point, we would like to say thanks to Tegiwa Imports for the deal of the entire performance parts.
