MTS Technik Coilover Suspension Street / Inox – Lexus IS I E1 (XMTSGWLE01)
Product Overview
The MTS Technik Street Series Inox Coilover Kit (XMTSGWLE01) is a complete, height-adjustable suspension system specifically optimized for the 1999–2005 Lexus IS I. Available at JDMaster.net, the Street Series serves as the definitive all-around configuration from MTS Technik engineers. Rather than subjecting you to an unforgiving, teeth-chattering ride on rough asphalt, this kit is tuned to deliver crisp steering feedback and flat cornering while retaining the premium everyday compliance expected of a luxury sports saloon.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Optimal Street Series Balancing: Specifically valved to combine sports performance with daily usability. Enjoy minimized body float and sharp entry response during spirited weekend driving without a harsh or punishing ride on your daily commute.
-
Premium Inox Stainless Steel Struts: Built with high-grade stainless steel shock housings for elite, long-lasting corrosion resistance against moisture, road grime, and salt—ensuring your height adjustment threads stay fully functional for life.
-
Performance-Engineered Springs by Eibach Germany: Equipped with custom main and helper springs wound out of high-tensile steel alloys by Eibach. These springs offer stable, consistent compression rates that resist sagging over thousands of miles of intense use.
-
Patented anti-seize hexaCOIL Perches: Features an innovative single hexagonal composite spring collar. The design actively sheds dirt and road grit from the shock threads during height adjustments, entirely preventing the frozen adjustment rings typical of traditional dual-locking metal designs.
-
Twin-Tube Gas-Oil Infrastructure: Pressurized low-pressure nitrogen gas compresses the hydraulic fluid reservoir to eliminate fluid cavitation and oil foaming during high-frequency piston cycles, maintaining uniform damping force.
-
Versatile Lowering Spectrum: Dial in the exact aesthetic your build requires, featuring an adjustable drop range of 30–55mm on the front axle and 30–85mm on the rear axle to perfectly level out your wheel arches.
-
High-Density Polyurethane (PUR) Bump Stops: Advanced progressive bump stops cushion the internal piston assemblies from bottoming out, ensuring long-term structural durability over severe road imperfections.

The Mechanical Advantage: Compliant Control for the Multi-Link Chassis
The first-generation Lexus IS features a highly sophisticated double-wishbone front layout paired with an independent multi-link rear suspension network. While this layout yields incredible mechanical grip, installing basic lowering springs on worn original shocks quickly leads to an under-damped, floating ride because the factory struts cannot properly control the altered travel.
The MTS Technik Street Series solves this by pairing matched Eibach springs directly with custom-valved dampers. By running a dedicated helper spring assembly on both front and rear threaded housings, the suspension ensures the main springs remain perfectly preloaded even under rapid weight transitions, severe braking nose-dive, or sudden drops in the road surface. This levels out cornering lean, settles the chassis out of mid-corner dips, and delivers a highly predictable, confidence-inspiring rear-wheel-drive feel.
Professional Installation & Alignment Advice
Clearances & Post-Install Alignment: Dropping your chassis ride height significantly alters factory double-wishbone and rear multi-link alignment angles, throwing off your camber and toe settings. A comprehensive, professional 4-wheel laser alignment is highly mandatory directly following installation to protect your performance tires and preserve high-speed tracking stability.
Due to the optimized barrel profile of aftermarket coilover springs relative to thin factory struts, a minimum clearance gap of 5mm must be maintained between the inner wheel barrel/tire sidewall and the coilover strut body. If you are running high-offset factory wheels or aggressive custom wheels that reduce this gap below 5mm, high-quality hub-centric wheel spacers are required. Plan your build cleanly by scheduling an installation appointment at our fully equipped JDMaster.net workshop.
