Hardrace Front Adjustable Lower Control Arm & Stab. Link – Nissan 240SX / Silvia (8636)
Product Overview
The Nissan S-chassis platform uses a MacPherson strut front suspension that relies on a stable lower pivot point to maintain grip. When lowered on coilovers, the factory lower arms tilt upward, pushing the roll center below the ground, which increases body roll and induces unpredictable bump-steer. Furthermore, the stock non-adjustable arms do not allow you to widen the front track or dial in precision negative camber without using weak, slip-prone eccentric bolts at the strut tab.
The Hardrace Adjustable Front Lower Control Arm + Stabilizer Link Kit (8636) is a heavy-duty, direct-replacement chassis upgrade built for absolute geometry control. Available at JDMaster.net, these high-tensile steel alloy arms feature a turnbuckle adjustment design pre-installed with motorsport-grade spherical pillow ball bushings and extended-stem roll center adjusters. Complete with shorter, adjustable sway bar end links, this master kit allows you to optimize your front-end architecture for sharp, linear steering response and flat cornering transitions.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Turnbuckle Camber & Track Adjustability: Engineered with a heavy-duty adjustable rod end layout that allows you to expand front track width and fine-tune front camber angles directly on the car.
-
Integrated Roll Center Correctors: Features extended-stem lower ball joints designed to level out the control arm angle on lowered vehicles, restoring the ideal roll center to reduce body roll.
-
Motorsport Spherical Pillow Balls: Replaces flexible factory rubber pivots with solid metal spherical pillow ball joints protected by rubber dust boots, guaranteeing zero bushing deflection and immediate steering response.
-
Adjustable Sway Bar Stabilizer Links: Included in the kit to resolve anti-roll bar binding. These short, adjustable end links allow you to properly eliminate sway bar pre-load after altering the control arm ride height.
-
Premium Steel Alloy Construction: Fabricated from thick-walled, ultra-high-strength steel alloy to provide structural rigidity against hard track curbs, sticky racing tires, and aggressive drift loads.
-
Anti-Corrosion ED Protection: Coated in Hardrace’s signature blue powder-coat finish over an advanced Electrophoretic Deposition (ED) base layer for ultimate defense against track debris and weathering.

The Mechanical Advantage: Restoring Geometry & Eliminating Sway Bar Bind
When an S-chassis is lowered, the outer ball joint at the steering knuckle rises relative to the inner subframe pivot. This upward tilt pushes the roll center below the ground, increasing the vehicle’s physical body roll because the distance between the center of gravity and the roll center operates like a longer leverage arm. Additionally, altering the arm’s resting angle pulls the factory anti-roll bar out of alignment, causing the end links to bind and artificially changing your spring rates during mid-corner transitions.
The Hardrace 8636 kit resolves this issue by combining geometry correction with complete link adjustability. The extended lower ball joints drop the outer pivot point back down, leveling out the control arm layout. This brings the roll center back up closer to the vehicle’s center of gravity, reducing body roll without forcing you to run bone-jarringly stiff coilover springs. The included short, turnbuckle-style adjustable stabilizer links allow you to re-align the front sway bar perfectly, completely removing binding and ensuring smooth, predictable body control.
Professional Lift Installation & Alignment Notes
Fitting Note: The Hardrace 8636 kit is a highly adjustable motorsport assembly. Because it alters front track width, roll center height, sway bar pre-load, and camber angles simultaneously, a professional four-wheel laser alignment is strictly mandatory immediately following installation.
While spherical pillow ball joints do not suffer from bushing twist or bind at hanging height, all adjustable locking collars, turnbuckles, and jam nuts must be verified and torqued down securely while the vehicle is resting under full load on an alignment rack. Ensure your car is dialed in flawlessly by scheduling an installation appointment at our JDMaster.net workshop, where our team specializes in complete track setups, drift angle geometry, and precision suspension calibrations.
