MTS Technik Coilover Suspension Stance / Inox – Honda Civic IV (EC/ED/EE) (XMTSGWHO04-S)
Product Overview
The MTS Technik Stance Series Inox Coilover Kit (XMTSGWHO04-S) is an ultra-low, high-stiffness suspension system engineered specifically for the 1987–1991 Honda Civic IV. Available globally at JDMaster.net, the Stance Series is explicitly dialed in for maximum visual lowering and aggressive wheel fitment. By pairing shortened, heavily valved stainless steel dampers with stiff Eibach performance springs, this kit provides a rock-solid, ultra-low profile that completely cuts out chassis wallow, ensuring absolute control over your stance project.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Stance Series Tuning: Specially calibrated with stiffer internal damping rates and matching spring rates compared to the standard Street setup. Designed specifically to minimize wheel-arch distance and keep the car flat through hard tracking maneuvers.
-
Inox Stainless Steel Struts: Features high-grade stainless steel shock bodies for absolute, permanent defense against wet road grime and harsh winter conditions, ensuring the threads spin freely years down the line.
-
Performance Springs by Eibach Germany: Equipped with custom-wound main and helper springs engineered by Eibach out of high-tensile steel. These springs maintain an unyielding rate and resist sagging, even under the constant preload of heavy lowering.
-
Patented anti-seize hexaCOIL Perches: Employs an innovative single hexagonal composite spring collar. The design naturally clears grit away from the threaded body, putting an end to the frozen or seized collars common to legacy dual-locking metal setups.
-
Twin-Tube Gas-Oil Infrastructure: Low-pressure nitrogen gas actively compresses the hydraulic fluid reservoir to eliminate fluid cavitation and oil foaming during high-frequency piston cycles, maintaining predictable damping force.
-
Deep Extreme Lowering Spectrum: Optimized for maximum drop potential, offering an ultra-low adjustable spectrum of 25–80mm on the front axle and 20–75mm on the rear axle.
-
High-Density Polyurethane (PUR) Bump Stops: Advanced progressive bump stops cushion the internal piston assemblies smoothly during deep compression strokes, shielding your internal valving from sudden surface impacts.

The Mechanical Advantage: Controlling the Golden-Era Double Wishbone
The fourth-generation Civic and second-generation CRX are legendary among track day drivers and stance builders alike because they utilize an incredibly nimble, race-derived 4-wheel double-wishbone suspension architecture. This design allows for massive mechanical grip, but it features very tight suspension travel clearances. When dropping these cars significantly on standard springs or soft coilovers, the upper control arms can repeatedly slam into the shock towers, causing severe handling instability and chassis damage.
The MTS Technik Stance Series counteracts this by pairing short-stroke, gas-pressurized twin-tube dampers with an aggressive Eibach spring package. The increased spring rate provides the high resistance necessary to dramatically reduce total suspension stroke over harsh road transitions. Supported by dedicated helper springs on both axles to ensure constant spring preload at extreme drops, this kit keeps the chassis incredibly flat, steady, and predictable.
Professional Installation & Alignment Advice
Clearances & Post-Install Alignment: Dropping your chassis ride height significantly modifies tracking, camber, and toe angles on the double-wishbone network. A professional 4-wheel laser alignment is strictly mandatory immediately following installation to ensure high-speed tracking stability and protect your performance tires from uneven wear.
Due to the wider barrel profile of aftermarket coilover springs relative to thin factory struts, a minimum clearance gap of 5mm must be checked between the inner tire sidewall/wheel rim and the coilover body. If you are running high-offset original rims or aggressive custom aftermarket wheels that reduce this gap below 5mm, high-quality hub-centric wheel spacers are required. Plan your build cleanly by scheduling an installation appointment at our fully equipped JDMaster.net workshop.
