MTS Technik Coilover Suspension Stance / Inox – Honda Civic (EG/EK) (XMTSGWHO01-S)
Product Overview
The MTS Technik Stance Series Inox Coilover Kit (XMTSGWHO01-S) is specifically engineered to provide extreme lowering for 1991–2001 Honda Civic builds. Available at JDMaster.net, the Stance Series represents MTS Technik’s most aggressive configuration. It utilizes short-stroke, heavily valved stainless steel dampers coupled with custom, heavy-rate Eibach performance springs. This combination safely drops your chassis into deep lowering territory while providing the rigid compression support required to eliminate body float and fender rubbing.
Key Features & Benefits
-
Stance Series Tuning: Specially calibrated with stiffer internal damping rates and heavier spring loads relative to standard configurations, allowing you to run aggressive, low-offset wheel fitments confidently.
-
Inox Stainless Steel Struts: Engineered with high-grade stainless steel shock housings to offer permanent corrosion defense against winter road salt, track-day debris, and moisture—ensuring alignment adjustments spin cleanly over time.
-
Performance Springs by Eibach Germany: Pre-assembled with progressive main and linear helper springs manufactured out of high-tensile steel by Eibach. These springs eliminate sag, maintain consistent seat preload, and provide rigid resistance against bottoming out.
-
Patented anti-seize hexaCOIL Perches: Employs an innovative single hexagonal composite spring collar. The design naturally clears road grit away from the threads during manual ride height adjustment, preventing the frozen or completely seized collars common to legacy metal dual-locking setups.
-
Twin-Tube Gas-Oil Infrastructure: Low-pressure nitrogen gas actively compresses the hydraulic fluid reservoir to eliminate internal oil cavitation and foaming during high-frequency piston movements, delivering reliable, predictable damping force over harsh asphalt transitions.
-
Deep Ultra-Low Lowering Spectrum: Optimized for maximum drop potential, offering an adjustable ride height spectrum of 35–80mm on the front axle and 35–75mm on the rear axle.
-
High-Durability Polyurethane (PUR) Bump Stops: Upgraded progressive bump stops cleanly absorb extreme suspension compression strokes, safeguarding internal valving elements from sudden structural impact.

⚠️ Important Rear Control Arm Warning: This kit utilizes a rear fork-type connection. It will not mount onto models equipped with rear eye-type lower shock mounts (such as certain UK/European market Civic models or JDM Integra DC2 Type R variants) unless the rear lower control arms are converted to the standard fork-style design.
The Mechanical Advantage: Taming Lower Control Arm Arcs at Low Heights
The EG and EK Civic chassis utilize a sophisticated 4-wheel double-wishbone suspension system. This architecture keeps tire contact patches exceptionally flat during hard cornering by generating aggressive negative camber as the chassis rolls. However, dropping the vehicle down significantly on soft springs causes the front and rear upper control arms to travel high enough to impact the inner unibody shock towers, resulting in severe suspension bind, cabin noise, and loose handling characteristics.
The MTS Technik Stance Series counteracts this inherent chassis limitation by utilizing heavily shortened twin-tube dampers and pairing them directly with high-rate Eibach springs and dedicated helper springs. The helper springs maintain proper spring tension under deep compression cycles, while the stiffer main springs ensure your suspension handles high cornering forces cleanly within a shortened travel window. This gives your build a flat, steady, and razor-sharp go-kart response over uneven roads.
Professional Installation & Alignment Advice
Clearances & Post-Install Alignment: Dropping your ride height changes your alignment tracking, static camber angles, and toe layout on the double-wishbone suspension. A professional 4-wheel laser alignment is strictly mandatory immediately following installation to ensure straight-line tracking stability and protect your performance tires from uneven wear.
Due to the performance profile of aftermarket coilover springs relative to thin factory struts, a minimum clearance gap of 5mm must be checked between the inner wheel rim/tire sidewall and the coilover body. If you are running high-offset original wheels or aggressive custom aftermarket wheel fitments that drop below this 5mm threshold, high-quality hub-centric wheel spacers are required. Plan your build cleanly by scheduling an installation appointment at our fully equipped JDMaster.net workshop.
