Starting with the 2.0L k20 engines, there are 2 type-r types which differ, based in country origin.
The European version K20A2 which is used into the Civic Type-r EP3 (01-06) and the Japan version K20A which is used to the jdm Civic Type-r EP3 / Integra DC5 (01-06)

As for the gearbox spec list, the differences exist in both country region and year of production. The facelift versions type-r (04-06) have lighter flywheel and Japan option takes the adventage of the close ratio gear of shorter 4-5-6th gears and LSD equipment.

Honda Kswap
The installation of the K20 engine, requires a selection of specific parts from the donor vehicle (the car that the K20 engine was taken from)
The base unit consists of : Engine-gearbox-wiring-ecu-shifter cables- shifter-driveshafts and all ancillaries of sensors-pumps etc.
By choosing the European version K20A2 , there are some sectors that you either going to change or modify. The EP3 Typer (EU Spec red top) shifter unit and cables needs to be replaced with the Japan version Integra DC5 or a aftermarket one.
The driveshafts of the kswap talking specific on eg/ek/dc2/delsol all 90-00 models, are prefered to be a aftermarket set of Kswap axles or just try the budget option which is the Typer K20 axles. The stock ep3 36mm (European Type-r version or jdm) axles can work as an option by switching the passenger side axle on the driver side and fitting outter cv joints from Bseries 32mm.
Also the ECU in these 2 versions, needs to be mentioned. The European spec have Immobilizer function , compared to the jdm version which is non immobilizer. Thus means that the European version needs immobilizer removal either with a bypass control unit which in most cased bypss the multiplex as well.. Keep in mind by using a stock ecu you also have the fit and properly connect both 02 oxygen sensors.
The jdm version ecu work direct with only issue the top speed limiter of 180km/h. The speed limiter can be removed with a separate speed control unit. Most common alternative options and ecu upgrades are the budget option of a reflash ecu with disabled error or a programmable aftermarket ecu option.

- Civic 92-95 / Integra/DelSol: Electric labour, modification or ugrade of the fuel system, radiator brackets, reflashed ecu or standalone unit , custom air intake system, new aftermarket or custom exhaust system in bigger diameter, power steering installation with the use of oem Honda Kseries power steering pump unit or electro-hybraulic unit.
- Civic 96-00 EK: Replacement of the EK front subframe-steering rack-control arms with the use of Civic EG or Integra DC unit (this is needed to properly aling the engine position and the angle of the driveshafts), electronic labour, modification or ugrade of the fuel system, radiator brackets,reflashed ecu or standalone unit ,new aftermarket or custom air intake system, new aftermarket or custom exhaust system in bigger diameter, power steering installation with the use of oem Honda Kseries power steering pump unit or electro-hybraulic unit.
- Civic / Crx 88-91: Digital speed signan is needed , so for easier work the stock cluster needs to be replaced with Civic EG, Integra DC, s2000) or alternative conversion into the speed sensor , ), electronic labour, modification or ugrade of the fuel system, radiator brackets, new aftermarket or custom air intake system, new aftermarket or custom exhaust system in bigger diameter, if the chassis is oem equipted with power steering, then the installation of electro-hybraulic unit is needed. Bodywork fabrication-modification is need for hood clearance.
